BULLDOG BUSINESS
Ah, the bulldog, tenacious creatures. They're the 5th most popular dog according to the American Kennel Club. Teams have bulldog mascots: Alabama, Univ. of Puerto Rico, Fisk, Brooklyn, Yale, and The Milwaukee Brewers. The saggy faced dog is on the logo for beers and trucks and padlocks.
Winston Churchill was nicknamed the “British Bulldog” because of his jowly face and plump figure. The bulldog, with words like I MEAN BUSINESS! DO YOU? or, HOLD THE LINE, appeared on British posters during both World Wars.
Honest Abe Lincoln said, "Hold on with a bulldog grip, and chew and choke as much as possible." To many the bulldog symbolizes pluck and determination. It seems an apt symbol for the muck the whole world is in now. Hold on with pluck and determination. Hold on with a bulldog grip. Mean business! Bully for you!
