A Ford in Your Future
A Black family standing in front of a billboard is pictured on a found black and white snapshot. The family alone was enlarged,, colored with photo oils and dyes, cut out and mounted on my acrylic painting of the billboard from the original snapshot. The period Ford advertisement was of a white lady standing next to her new car. I placed the Black family so the ad reads, somewhat, Here's Your Future. That they chose to be photographed in front of the billboard suggests future possibilities. The work is on stretched canvas.
