BACCHUS AND SISSY SALAD
BACCHUS AND SISSY SALAD is an 8x6 signed print on heavy paper. From my endless ephemera folder came the b&w ad for Knox Gelatin I adapted for this print. I was a teenager when the ad ran. I added the marble statue of the Greek god Bacchus and put him in a pile of healthy greens. His wine goblet was refilled with greens. That explains his look of disdain. I covered his private parts with Swiss chard and not the traditional Vatican fig leaf. Chard is, after all, slang for stereotypically alpha males. Eat up guys and be thankful for all the Marys in your life. #sissy #healthyeating #alphamale #greenleafvegetables #homophobia #masculinity #lgbtq #peterjketchum #ketchumart #artspanprints
