MOLLY IN THE PHOTOBOOTH 1940S

MOLLY IN A PHOTO BOOTH is an 8x6 limited edition, signed print on heavy stock. I adapted a found photo booth b&w photo, enlarged it and cut out the background. I added wavy lines representing the phone messages zapping through the air. And a rusty sign of the period, probably late 40s. A wabi-sabi stamp in Japanese characters is on the upper left. Wabi-sabi is an ancient Japanese aesthetic. It values the imperfect, the unknown, the handmade, the damaged, flawed, and the simple.
The women is Molly W. the telephone operator. She is wearing the telephone sweater she probably found at Woolworths in Burlington. Molly is part of my continuing wabi-sabi series.
