POPEYE MAD AS HELL MENKO
POPEYE MAD AS HELL is an 8x6 signed print on heavy paper. It was made adapting a 1950 Japanese Menko card showing Mickey Mouse and Popeye playing baseball. There was a debate at first base between the rodent and Popeye. The adapted work is mounted on abstract spinach. I added "I YAM DISGUSTIPATED!" It's a phrase I Popeye was prone to use in agitated, infuriating moments. Like now.
Menko cards appeared soon after WWII and were made of heavy paper or cardboard.
