CRAZY HAPPY IN WHITE LOTUS LAND
“CRAZY HAPPY IN WHITE LOTUS LAND” is an 8X6 limited edition, signed print. It is adapted from my large acrylic painting, “GOSH BUT I’M HAPPY.” It’s about the chemically-induced illusion of happiness .
I did the painting years ago and when the show “The White Lotus” popped up and was said to have “clinical relevance” in the increase of some drug use, particularly lorazepam and other benzodiazepines, I had to mess around with my old work and update it. So now it’s in black and white against a new crazed background with some new drugs added to the bliss list. To help mask the odor of societal decay, I put fresh white lotus here and there to perfume the air much as flowers do in funeral parlors.
Speaking of pills, a quote from Tanya. “I dreamt that I was on the top of this beautiful mountain range in Asia and I had a cyanide pill….”
