FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT
Fake it till you make it (or "Fake it until you make it") is a popular aphorism. It says, basically, if you act confident and have an optimistic attitude, you will have a better chance of positive results. Way back in the 1970s people listened to a song "Fakin' It" by Simon & Garfunkel. "And I know I'm fakin' it," the words said, "I'm not really makin' it."
As far back as 1922 William James wrote in his bookTHE GOSPEL OF RELAXATION, "So to feel brave, act as if we were brave, use all our will to that end, and a courage-fit will very likely replace the fit of fear."
So, dear readers, have a courage fit! Succeed. And buy a print to remind you to fake it until you DO make it. And you will. Probably. Or not.
