THE BIG PAINT SPLASH

For this 7x5 multiple print, a vintage black and white sign was transformed for the background of the splashed, dripped upon, what-a-mess WET PAINT sign. Keystone Paints began in 1828 in Pennsylvania. It originally made paints for horse carriages and school black boards. It was absorbed by Valspar in the 1960s. Wet Paint signs were available for free from hardware stores. The woman is drawn as thin and sexy because that's what sold in those (more) sexist times. She is also your basic female ditz. I mean, she sat on a newly painted bench! You sure as hell wouldn't catch any man doing such a thing. Prints available in various sizes here (peterjketchum.com) and on KetchumArt Shop stuff on Redbubble. https://www.redbubble.com/people/ketchumart/shop.
